Working Small: Paintings on earrings and more

 

I watched and recorded a sunset over the Croatan Sound, and I made myself a pair of earrings to wear to an art show I was participating in. Later I paired that inspiration with my joy my excitement my desire to see egrets and cranes. The sunsets are never fixed and the colors the atmosphere exudes are surprising, unexpected, exciting.  Sunrises and sunsets are the time when the sky says I am not just a color. I am all the colors. I am all the things that you are taking for granted. I am always changing. 

The birds are different. They are stoic, stable, and unchanging. They are here and will continue to be if allowed, if their habitat is cared for, if we leave their wild reserves preserved.
